Ali is a former speech writer and magazine editor and resident of Torquay, and was a published author of romances before switching genre to write sparkling murder mysteries set on the English Riviera in the 1930s.  ‘Murder under the Rock’ is the first in a series featuring amateur detectives, Kitty and Nora Markham.  When not writing, Ali loves travelling and walking for fitness.

I'm an honorary fellow at the Bristol Digital Futures Institute, and a Personal to the Planetary Community Fellow at the Brigstow and Cabot Institutes.I'm a resident at the Pervasive Media Studio where I was research director. I've been a lecturer at South China University of Technology; senior lecturer at Queen Mary, London; visiting professor of computer science at ITU in Copenhagen and the University of Bath; and a senior researcher at HP Labs, Bristol and Palo Alto.
